Pictorialis is a semantic and standards compliant image publishing tool that has been crafted out of the amazing Wordpress Open Source Blogging Platform. Fall 2004 It is not a "fork" of Wordpress. The desire to build this system is borne out of a personal need for a photo publishing tool that is featureful, easy to use, easily customizable and is standards compliant with an emphasis on ease of use.

Pictorialis is developed by Mark Ghosh with help and encouragement from a variety of friends and well wishers including Photomatt, Podz, NuclearMoose, Carthik and countless others. The Pictorialis Graphic was developed by NuclearMoose. Pictorialis is licensed under the GPL and development progress is logged at the devblog.

Pictorialis is an Open Source application and is completely free to use and modify as you please as long as you are adhering to the GPL. Fall 2004Support is provided through the Support BBS where you will find most answers. Feel free to email me with any direct requests, but the sheer volume of requests makes it hard to respond in any timely manner. If you would like to help out with the project, please email me with your details and you can donate to the project through the link above.

Pictorialis will not follow the WordPress release pattern unless there are security updates involved. Some of the features from newer versions will get merged with Pictorialis with time. All versions of Pictorialis will be archived and downloadable from this site and a CVS will be added as soon as possible.
